We offer massage treatments based on the use of acupressure massage.

Acupressure massage is highly effective where the patient is concerned or uncomfortable with the use of acupuncture needles. There are also a number of muscular injuries where acupressure massage can be more effective than acupuncture treatments.

Massage sessions last 45 minutes. The treatments are provided by a qualified acupuncturist, this ensures that the correct trigger and pressure points are activated and utilised in the most effective sequence. A range of techniques are used from light pressure to deep tissue massage and release. The treatment is dynamic and adapted and adjusted to what the patient experiences as the session progresses.

As with acupuncture the treatment session will start with a detailed medical history which will help support an energetic dianosis of your condition. The massage treatment will usually focus on the area of pain but other areas of the body will probably be activated as well. A treatment for shoulder pain will, for example, use points in your shoulder but will also focus on your neck, arm and wrist.

Whilst we use acupressure massage mostly in treating muscular pain it can be valuable in helping with constitutional issues such as digestive problems, insomnia and headaches.

Most patients find the massages both extremely effective and relaxing. Some patients combinbe acupressure and acupuncture treatments many others find that acupressure by itself is suffient.
