We have provided a specialist acupuncture in the Barnsley area since 2009. Whilst we cover a wide range of conditions we focus on
We have good success rates with each of these conditions. But acupuncture- like any medical intervention- will have patients who do not benefit from the treatment. We will discuss this and the likelihood of success with you at the free consultation.
We also offer facial cosmetic acupuncture, cupping and acupressure message. These can as a stand alone treatment or combined with clinical acupuncture.
Our prices start at £23 per treatment for customers signed up to the monthly direct debit scheme.
The clinic is located on the first floor of the Grove. If you are unable to get up the stairs then we do offer an at home mobile acupuncture service within the Barnsley and Wakefield postcode areas.
In 2023 the Barnsley Acupuncture clinic merged with Wakefield Acupuncture and now provides all treatments from the Grove in Royston (S71 4EU) under Solutions Focused Acupuncture name. The name reflects our absolute priority of providing you with a resolution to your problem. The service is still identical to that which we have provided since 2009. The clinic has a large free car park. We operate flexible hours which currently include Thursday and Friday evenings and all day Sunday. Acupuncture treatments are primarily provided by Jonathan Tilt who qualified as an acupuncturist in 2009 and is licensed by Barnsley Council.

For all potential patients Barnsley Acupuncture offer a free no obligation initial consultation. This can be in person, by phone or by zoom. The consultation enables us to gather more information and better advise you about whether acupuncture can help you. It gives you the opportunity to ask any questions in person and decide whether you want to proceed to treatment.
We are frequently asked if acupuncture hurts. The answer is virtually always not. There is a more detailed answer and explanation here. It is entirely normal to be apprehensive before having a first session of acupuncture. We understand that. If you feel you have a high level of anxiety around needles or any other part of the treatment then please feel free to mention that when booking.
Acupuncture is a specialist and highly personal service. We recommend that you consider Barnsley Acupuncture but please also look at other acupuncturists in Barnsley. They may be a better option for you. We recommend getting treated by a professional acupuncturist who will have spent 3-4 years training in the discipline and will probably just do acupuncture. Many other health professiuonals have completed a course over a few weeks and offer “dry needling” often advertised as acupuncture. You are unlikely to get the same benefits from dry needling as from a professional acupuncturist.
Jonathan Tilt has provided acupuncture services in the Barnsley and Wakefield areas since 2009. He has treated several thousand people during that time. Jonathan states his aim as being

I want to understand the chronology and connections around your pain in order to develop an individual approach which treats you not just your condition. I don’t follow formulaic approaches although I do rely heavily on distal needling.“
Jonathan generally uses a range of acupuncture techniques that focus on using distal points in the lower limbs. He explained
” Over many years of using acupuncture and evolving my practice I’ve found that distal points are usually more effective than the alternatives. My practice is results based and I rely on the points that are best at supporting that”
